Account Deletion

This page explains how to delete your Sediment account and all data associated with it. Anyone can request deletion, whether you currently have the app installed or not.
1. Delete from inside the app (recommended)
The fastest path is from the app itself:
- Open Sediment
- Go to the Account tab (bottom-right)
- Scroll to DANGER ZONE at the bottom of the screen
- Tap Delete account
- Confirm the action
Processing is immediate — your fragments, layers, photos, and the account itself are erased before the next screen loads.
2. Request deletion by email
If you cannot or prefer not to use the app (for example, you have already uninstalled it), email us:

Sediment Account Deletion Request - Body: include the email address you used to sign up. If you signed in with Apple or Google, include the display name and any identifier you remember; we may ask follow-up questions to verify your identity.
Requests are processed within 30 days, and you will receive a confirmation email when the deletion is complete.
3. What gets deleted
The following data is permanently erased:
- Firebase Authentication account (UID, email, OAuth identifiers)
- All fragments (text and attached photos)
- All AI-woven layers (weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly)
- AI generation logs and credit ledger
- Streak and usage statistics
- Subscription association (the entitlement is unlinked from your account)
4. What is not deleted
Some data must be retained for legal or operational reasons:
- Active subscriptions: deletion is blocked while you have an active Sediment Pro subscription. Cancel through App Store or Google Play first, then request deletion. This is required by Apple App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1(v).
- Aggregate, anonymous usage logs: cannot be tied back to you and are kept for service improvement.
- Records required by law: e.g., transaction receipts under Korean e-commerce law (5 years). These are stored separately, contain only what the law requires, and are deleted at the end of the retention period.
5. Refunds
Account deletion does not trigger a refund of credits or unused subscription time. Refunds follow the policies of the billing channel:
